Lucknow: Lalbagh College panel members booked for fraud

Principal of Lalbagh Girls’ Intermediate College has lodged a complaint of embezzlement of over Rs 32 lakh by members and office-bearers of the management committee/society which was derecognized by registrar chit fund and societies,Kaiserbagh.

LUCKNOW: Principal of Lalbagh Girls’ Intermediate College has lodged a complaint of embezzlement of over Rs 32 lakh by members and office-bearers of the management committee/society which was derecognized by registrar chit fund and societies, Kaiserbagh.
In her complaint, principal Arima Rishal Singh said the college is a government aided school and is being run by Lucknow Christian Educational Society.

“As principal of the college I am also member of the management committee and society. One JJ Avil, her husband Herbart Avil and their associates Michel Paul, Ravi Paul and SK Tites withdrew the money from funds on different dates in February 2020,” she said.
She further said she had sent a letter to the Kaiserbagh police station through post and also sent her messenger to lodge a complaint in March after the embezzlement surfaced.
Another FIR was lodged against the above mentioned persons in a case lodged by principal of Christian Intermediate College Rohit Spring also with the Kaiserbagh police station.
The complainant said JJ Avil and others fraudulently withdrew Rs 32.40 lakh from the Lucknow Christian Educational Society’s fund. He also alleged that he sent a complaint to commissioner of Lucknow police through speed post, but the case was not taken up by the police and he had to move to ACJM I court for justice. A case was registered in this connection.
ADCP, west zone, Chiranjeev Sinha said that an FIR against above named persons under sections of criminal breach of trust and forgery has been lodged in both the cases and a probe was underway.
