Lucknow: Mayan Mahotsav, an annual event held annually to eulogize the role of mother in our lives, will be held in Gadela village of Itaunja, Lucknow, on Sunday.
The programme aims to blend the cultures of cities and villages and lays special focus on the disabled. This year's programme is dedicated to people with visual impairment.
The programme will begin with the felicitation of Sandeep, a BSF jawan and a gallantry medal awardee, who lost his eyesight in a terrorist operation.
This will be followed by performances by a group of blind artists. UP minister Asim Arun and others will participate in a panel discussion titled, ‘Aiye Hum Inka Hausla Banein'.
Singer Prabha Srivastava will render ‘ghazals' dedicated to the disabled. The highlight of this year's programme will be a musical performance by Sandeep Mishra.
