Lucknow: In a high-stakes semi-final clash, Prime Health City edged past Ramswaroop Tigerz 3.5-2.5 to book the title clash with Speed Chargers on Saturday, March 1. The losing side will now compete in the third-place playoff on Sunday, March 2.
Ramswaroop Tigerz started strong as veterans Ravindra Nath Singh & BD Naqvi defeated Captain SK Dwivedi & Dr Sudhir Kapoor. However, the remaining seeded pairs struggled against a determined Prime Health City, who dominated the front nine with commanding 5&6 up leads in key matchups. The momentum carried forward as Dhruv Seth & Anuj Agarwal and Sanjay Bhasin & Sudip Luthra secured decisive victories. The only halved match was between Sujeet Kumar Singh & Deepa Vatsa and Faisal Asad Hussain & Vikram Bhargava. With the final point secured by Navin Charan & Sudhanshu Krishna Dubey, Prime Health City now heads into the final as strong contenders.
J&K judokas shine
On Day 3 of the Indian Bank National Para Judo Championships, Jammu & Kashmir clinched the Overall Youth Trophy with 4 Gold and 1 Silver, while Maharashtra secured the Runners-Up Trophy with 2 Gold, 1 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals. In the Junior category, J&K also emerged as overall winners, while UP finished runners-up. Shahnaz Akhtar (J&K) and Luvkush (UP) won Best Judoka awards in the Youth category, while Shahnaz Akhtar (J&K) and Aditya Saini (UP) claimed the Junior Best Judoka titles. Dignitaries Sudhir Shankar Halwasiya and Mahesh Kumar Gupta distributed the awards.
