Purnima, Pitambari help UP script victory in women’s hockey league

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh defeated Jai Bharat Hockey Academy 2-1 in the Khelo India Women's Hockey League (final phase) being held at Padma Shri Mohd Shahid Hockey Stadium, Gomtinagar in Lucknow on Thursday.
For Uttar Pradesh, Purnima Yadav and Pitambari Kumari scored a goal each while Mukan Ahlawat managed to score one goal for the opponent.
In another match, Madhya Pradesh hockey team and Sports Hostel, Bhubaneswar, scored three goals each to end the match in a tie.
In yet another tie held on the day, Pritam Siwach Academy also managed to tie the match with Sports Authority of India 'B’. Both the teams scored 1 goal each.
In the last match of the day, Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre defeated Hockey Maharashtra 1-0.
Top 10 women teams of the country are participating in this prestigious league matches, which will continue till March 30.
