Safety audit of school bldgs soon: Govt
Lucknow : A Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court was informed by the state govt on Tuesday that the process for safety audits of school buildings across Uttar Pradesh would begin shortly.
The court was also told that meetings between govt officials and school managements had been positive and that effective proposals regarding traffic management around educational institutions would soon be placed before the court. Taking note of the submission, the bench fixed July 16 as the next date of hearing in the matter.
The order was passed by a bench of Justice Alok Mathur and Justice B R Singh on a public interest litigation filed by Gomti River Bank Residents.
During the hearing, the state govt informed the court that two rounds of meetings had already been held with school managements and govt officials. Several suggestions emerged during these discussions regarding improvement of traffic arrangements around educational institutions in the city.
