Two cops suspended after video of ganja trade goes viral

Lucknow: The SHO of Kaiserbagh police station, Sunil Singh, and the in-charge of the Ghasiyari Mandi outpost, Vijay Yadav, were suspended for allegedly facilitating the sale of ganja.The action followed allegations made by Kaiserbagh resident Priyansh Sonkar that Ashish Sonkar had been selling ganja.Recently, locals caught one of Ashish's associates with ganja and handed him over to the police. The accused allegedly confessed but was let off.Residents then approached the SHO, but no action was taken. Thereafter, another member of Ashish's gang was allegedly caught selling ganja. A video of the incident was shared with the police. Ashish then allegedly threatened Priyansh, but police took no action.However, when the video went viral, DCP west Vishwajeet Srivastava initiated an inquiry."A case has been registered and probe was on," said Srivastava.
