LUCKNOW: Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, while responding to Uma Bharti's remark that she was not an outsider in Uttar Pradesh, launched a scathing attack on BJP's star campaigner on Thursday.
Rahul hit back at Uma Bharti, saying that she was thrown out of Madhya Pradesh.
"Where was Uma when UP needed her. When I said BSP was not doing anything for UP, where was she (Uma Bharti)?" he said.

Earlier in the day, BJP's firebrand leader took a pot shot at Rahul Gandhi, saying she would defeat the Congress scion in the forthcoming UP assembly elections.
"I am from MP and people will accept me. I am not an outsider. I have defeated Rahul's mentor (Digvijay Singh) in MP, now I will defeat Rahul," Bharti had told reporters.
Uma Bharti will contest from Charkari in Mahoba district of Bundelkhand.
Announcing the Uma's candidature, BJP president Nitin Gadkari had said: "There was a lot of speculation in the media about Uma Bharti and we have decided that she will contest from Charkari. In fact, I can tell you that she won't just contest elections , but will also be one of the star campaigners for the party," Gadkari said.
