Youth falls off flyover after accident, dies

LUCKNOW: A youth fell off a flyover following an accident and succumbed to his injuries on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. A resident of Azamgarh, Santosh Chaudhary (25) was riding pillion on a motorcycle.
The rider identified as Ghazipur resident Azam (27) applied sudden brakes as some dust entered his eyes. He lost control over the two-wheeler which skid on the flyover near Karamat Inter College in Mahangar area around 12.30am.
The bike collided with an iron railing and Chaudhary fell off the flyover onto the road beneath it. Azam also collapsed on the road bleeding profusely. A passerby informed Mahangar police and the two were rushed to KGMU's trauma centre. Chaudhary succumbed to his injuries within 90 minutes of the accident while Azam was discharged after treatment on Sunday evening.
In charge of Mahanagar police station inspector Nagendra Chaubey said the duo was drunk and tested positive for alcohol. The two were pursuing management course from a Gosainganj based institute and were heading to a friend's place when the incident occured.
