Admn’s LPG control room streamlines supply amid disruptions

Ludhiana: The LPG control room set up by the district administration has begun receiving complaints, queries and requests related to supply disruptions, with officials claiming swift redressal in most cases. The facility aims to ensure uninterrupted LPG availability for households, industries and essential services across the district.Assistant Food Supply Officers from the East and West zones have been appointed as nodal officers and are overseeing daily functioning of the control room. Officials said that the control room has so far received 161 complaints, queries and requests, of which 148 have been resolved, while 13 remain under process.In addition, 78 requests from key sectors including industries, hospitals, schools, restaurants and dhabas have been addressed, helping avert potential shortages and ensuring continuity of essential operations.District officials have urged stakeholders to make use of the facility for any LPG-related issues. District food and supplies controller Sartaj Singh Cheema said the control room, set up at the Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (Glada) office, is ensuring timely resolution of all complaints and requests. He said complaints regarding non-delivery of cylinders even after bookings are also being addressed and resolved."All commercial and industrial LPG requests are being received and, as per government allocation directions, cylinders — whether commercial or industrial — are being supplied," Cheema said. He added that all requests, whether routed through the deputy commissioner's office or received directly, are being addressed.On March 30, the deputy commissioner constituted a district-level committee headed by the additional chief administrator, Glada, to monitor and supervise LPG distribution and ensure compliance with official directions. The grievance redressal control room at the Glada office is functioning as a coordination centre, working with gas agencies and oil marketing companies to maintain adequate LPG supplies. The control room operates daily from 9am to 5.30pm. Residents can contact the facility through the helpline number 9915155072 for assistance, officials said.
