The World Bank has raised India’s GDP growth forecast for FY27 to 6.6%, citing strong domestic demand and resilience in the economy. However, it expects growth to moderate from 7.6% in FY26 amid global headwinds, including the ongoing West Asia conflict and energy market disruptions. The report highlights risks from rising oil prices, trade uncertainties and geopolitical tensions, even as India remains the fastest-growing major economy. The RBI has also warned of potential impacts from disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
