Basant Panchami fair: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini visits Bhaini Sahib.
Ludhiana: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini has signaled a strategic shift in the region's political landscape, ramping up his presence in Punjab ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. On Friday, Saini visited Bhaini Sahib to mark the 210th Prakash Purab of Satguru Ram Singh and the Basant Panchami fair, marking his sixth appearance in the state this month. BJP sources suggest Saini has been tasked with filling the leadership void left by the late Vijay Rupani, the former Gujarat CM and BJP Punjab in-charge. The move is seen as a deliberate effort by the "saffron party" to groom a leader capable of challenging Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann in the upcoming "big match".
