Man "fires" at his brother in law in Ludhiana over marital dispute
LUDHIANA: Saleem Tabri police on Sunday arrested a person for attempt to murder after he allegedly fired bullet at his brother in law over dispute with his wife and in laws. The accused was identified as Manmohan Singh of Jamalpur.
The victim Kuljeet Singh of Bhagwan Das Colony in Salem Tabri in his complaint said that his sister was married to the accused in 1994 and they have two children from their marriage.

He added that the accused is hooked to drugs and would beat his (Kuljeet’s) sister.
The complainant said that about a year ago the accused had thrashed his sister and turned her out of his house. He added that since that time, his sister is living with them and as his sister’s relation with the accused has been strained they have filed an application for divorce in the court.
Kuljeet Singh said that on Saturday the accused holding gun in his hand forcibly entered in their house and beat him up. He added that the accused also tried to shoot him down but the gun misfired and he was lucky to escape unhurt.
The complainant said that After the incident, the accused ran away from the spot. He added that later he informed police.
On being informed, cops from Saleem Tabri police station reached the spot and started probe into the matter.
Police has booked the accused under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 506 (criminal intimidation) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 25/54/59 of arms act.
Station House Officer (SHO) at Salem Tabri Police station, Inspector Vijay Kumar, said that the accused was arrested on Sunday from near Grain Market
