Seminar on child abuse draws good response

LUDHIANA: A two-day national seminar on 'Child Abuse and Labour in India' organized by department of political science at Arya College began on Saturday. The seminar drew an overwhelming response from intellectuals, research scholars, social workers, NGOs and professors.
Principal TL Joshi, who was also the director of this UGC-sponsored seminar, opened the proceedings.Joshi commended the excellent work done by programme convener Sunil Khosla and organizing secretary Suksham Ahluwalia. Issues like child labour, child abuse, lack of dignity and missing government support were discussed and ideas for remedial policies were put forward.
