LUDHIANA: Anita Malhotra, an Ashok Nagar resident, hosted a perfect teej function on Saturday at Malhotra resort that was full of women brimming with happiness. Around 300 women dressed in traditional outfits turned up at the resort to celebrate monsoon's popular festival. They applied mehendi on their hands and shared light-hearted moments.
The function began with a dance programme, anchored by Anita Sachedeva.

Rajni Goel of Pakhowal road, Anita Aroa and Praveen Malhotra of Ashok Nagar and Anila Nagpal of BRS Nagar, among others, gave electrifying giddha performances.
The gathering enjoyed the humorous round, in which participants translated Hindi songs into Punjabi and had hillarious time.
To honour well-dressed women, a ramp show of two age groups, 25 to 35 years and 35 to 45 years, was held in which Nitisha Sachdeva and Anita Malhotra emerged the winners.
The game of antakshari was appreciated by everyone. Ruchika Jain and Suchi Jain performed a skit along with Simmi Jain, depicting the change in dietary habits of youngsters as compared to the previous generation.
Besides the celebration, serious issue of female feticide was also raised during the function. Sangeeta Bhandari, president, NGO Ahsas, who is already running a signature campaign to make people aware of this sensitive issue, appealed to the gathering to help in curbing this menace. Civil Lines resident Rashmi Jain said the function was a wonderful experience.
