Man hacked to death in Tirunelveli

Tirunelveli: A 37-year-old man was hacked to death over an alleged extramarital affair in Tirunelveli district on Monday.The deceased, Sundar, 37, of Anaiyappapuram, was a document writer with his office located at Moolakaraipatti. Police said he allegedly had an extramarital affair with Muthumari of Moolakaraipatti. Muthumari along with her children left her husband and lived with Sundar at Itteri. Sundar's wife left him too.On Monday morning, when Sundar was on his way to his office, Muthumari's husband Manikandan, 37, and his brother Sudalai, 34, intercepted Sundar and hacked him with a sickle. Police reached the spot and sent Sundar to Palayamkottai GH. Sundar died at the hospital. The Munnirpallam police registered a case.Meanwhile, Manikandan and Sudalai surrendered before the Moolakaraipatti police. They were remanded in judicial custody.
