Madurai: A 35-year-old man from Dindigul was robbed of his two-wheeler, mobile phone and cash by an unknown three-member gang near M Chatrapatti in Madurai district on Sunday.
According to the police,
R Karthikeyan, 35, of Natham, Dindigul, was sitting near a Tasmac shop in M Chatrapatti on Sunday evening. During which, three unknown people, who were identified to be around 20-25 years of age, came on a two-wheeler near Karthikeyan.
Suddenly, the trio robbed him of his belongings at knife point.
The miscreants took away Karthikeyan’s two-wheeler, mobile phone and 300, and fled the spot. The M Chatrapatti police registered a case and began investigation.
In another similar incident, a 34-year-old man from Madurai was robbed of his two-wheeler and mobile phone near Avaniyapuram on Saturday night. Police said that the
robbery was committed when G Gurumani of Sambakulam, was at Mandela Nagar, Mattuthavani Bypass Road, which reportedly often has poor lighting on the roads.
Suddenly, two unknown men threatened Gurumani and robbed his belongings. Based on Gurumani’s complaint, the Avaniyapuram police registered a case and trace the accused.
