Woman robbed of gold; 3 held

Madurai: Madurai police on Tuesday arrested three people for robbing a woman of 29 sovereigns of gold jewellery worth 8.7 lakh when she was alone at her house. The stolen gold was recovered. A Kousalya, 28, wasalone at her home in Kurayur near Kallikudi. On March 23, Kousalya was alone at home. At 1.45pm, two men entered the house and grabbed and pushed her inside the house.They threatened her at knifepoint and made her remove the gold jewellery. On investigation, police arrested M Muthukrishnan, 32, and L Balaji, 34, of Thirumangalam and N Pilavadiyan, 32, of Kurayur.TNN
