Degree student arrested with hydro ganja worth ₹35 lakh near Mulki
Mangaluru: Police arrested a degree college student and seized around 1 kg of hydro ganja valued at approximately Rs 35 lakh during an operation on Mulki Railway Station Road on Monday.
City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy said the accused, Suhana, 21, a resident of Hulidevarabana in Sagar taluk of Shivamogga district, was found allegedly transporting the narcotic for sale. She is a final‑year BCA student at a college in Kundapur.
A mobile phone and other materials allegedly used in the offence were also seized. Police said the accused had allegedly smuggled the ganja from Chennai. A case has been registered at Mulki police station under sections 8(c) and 20(b) of the NDPS Act.
The operation was carried out jointly by the Panambur ACP team and the Mulki police team. Police said the accused had previous cases registered against her in Kavoor and at Bengaluru International Airport Customs.
