MANGALURU: Governor Vajubhai Vala on Thursday received President
Ram Nath Kovind at Mangaluru International Airport when the latter made a technical stop over en route Sri Krishna Temple in Udupi. This is the maiden visit of the President to this part of the state since he assumed office. District minister U T Khader, mayor Bhaskar K Moily and other dignitaries were also present.
The President is scheduled to take part at a function at the famed Sri Krishna Temple to mark the 80th anniversary of ‘sanyasa deeksha’ of Sri Vishvesha Tirtha, senior seer of Pejavar Adhokshaja Math.
The President, who arrived on a special IAF aircraft, later left for Udupi in helicopter. Savita Kovind, his wife accompanied him.
