JNV Mudipu declared PM SHRI School

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada MP Brijesh Chowta officially announced Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Mudipu as a PM SHRI school on Saturday. The MP said that the selection of JNV Mudipu under the PM Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) scheme is a matter of pride for the people of Dakshina Kannada. Under the scheme, the school will get an overall facelift through the introduction of technology-based teaching facilities, skill development, innovation, and better infrastructure, he said.PM SHRI School is a centrally sponsored scheme by the government of India intended to develop more than 14,500 schools. Selected schools will be a model for all schools in the locality. A full-fledged laboratory, smart classrooms, library, sports, and all other facilities will be developed in the PM SHRI school, he added.School principal P Rajesh, former chairman of the Mysore Electrical Industries Limited, Santhosh Boliyar, and BJP block president Jagadish Alva were present.Make cleanliness part of life: MPBrijesh said that every individual should make cleanliness part of their life. He was addressing the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign being held as part of the 10th anniversary of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan organised by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), here on Saturday.The MP called upon people to consider cleanliness as worship to God. "In Indian culture, dedication and sacrifice have their own significance. Our campaign towards ‘swachhata' should not be limited to one day. Along with ensuring participation in swachhata drives through institutions, one should also practice it at the personal level too. Everyone should be part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched in 2014," he said.Moodbidri MLA Umanath Kotian and senior commandant of CISF Veerendra Mohan, were present.
