Residents of Mumbai will get a slice of Beary-Tulu culture served to them on Saturday, courtesy 'Beary-Tulu Sangama' organized by Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy.

MANGALORE: Residents of Mumbai will get a slice of Beary-Tulu culture served to them on Saturday, courtesy 'Beary-Tulu Sangama' organized by Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy.
M B Abdul Rahman, president of the academy told reporters here on Tuesday that the academy has teamed up with Shafi Welfare Association, and Mulund Friends to organize the programme at Dr Visvesvarayya Hall, Karnataka Sangha, Matunga at 10 am.

Rahman said the programme is aimed at connecting the scores of Tulu and Beary speaking population, who have migrated to Mumbai for their livelihood, and also to introduce the unique cultures of these language speaking communities to people there.
Union minister of state for railways K H Muniyappa will be the special invitee at the valedictory, where the academy will honour nine people for their contribution to Beary language and culture. A dance competition featuring troupes from Mumbai will be held after the valedictory.
