Udupi MLA inspects Baje Dam, directs uninterrupted water supply
Udupi: Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna Friday visited the Baje Dam, the drinking water source for Udupi city, and inspected water storage levels.
During the visit, he reviewed the dam’s storage capacity and inflow situation and directed officials to take precautionary measures to ensure an uninterrupted water supply to city residents.
He noted that water is also being supplied to the city through the Varahi project, but said the availability at the Baje Dam is lower than last year. He instructed officials to ensure there is no disruption in the continuous supply of water to the Udupi city areas.
The MLA later visited the water purification plant, reviewed its functioning with officials and instructed them to maintain the facility efficiently, giving priority to the uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water.
Municipal commissioner Mahanthesh Hangargi and others were present.
