UP deputy CM reviews healthcare in Amroha, slams opposition
Bijnor: Uttar Pradesh deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Monday reviewed healthcare services and inspected facilities at a community health centre during his visit to Amroha, directing officials to strengthen medical services and ensure timely treatment for patients at govt hospitals.
“In view of the ongoing heatwave, all hospitals across the state have been placed on alert. Adequate arrangements of medicines have been ensured in hospitals, with beds reserved for emergencies,” the minister said while interacting with health department officials.
Highlighting govt initiatives, Pathak noted that the number of medical colleges in the state had doubled from 40 to 81 since the BJP came to power. He added that annual MBBS graduates had risen from 5,000 to nearly 12,500, based on which medical staff will be deployed in hospitals. Pathak also announced plans to establish cancer hospitals in all 18 divisions of UP, strengthen ICUs and set up trauma centres.
The deputy CM, however, launched a sharp attack on opposition parties. He criticised the Samajwadi Party of lawlessness during its tenure, describing it as a “govt of goons”. Pathak alleged that criminal elements operated freely under the former SP regime. Referring to alleged land-grabbing incidents, he claimed that the party functioned with the mindset of “every vacant plot belongs to us”. He said the state was now witnessing “good governance” under CM Yogi Adityanath and asserted that no form of criminal rule would be tolerated.
Pathak also targeted the satirical online movement Cockroach Janata Party, alleging that a large section of its social media followers were from Pakistan and Bangladesh. He accused such groups of spreading misinformation, while stressing that the public continued to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Turning his attack on the Congress, Pathak said Rahul Gandhi and other party leaders were under “tremendous stress and pressure”, claiming they were aware of India’s rapid progress under Modi’s leadership and the PM’s growing stature as a global leader.
