5 edu institutes to train aspirants for jobs in Germany
Thane: The district administration has finalised five education institutes from Thane for providing advanced training and grooming sessions for over 600 job aspirants to fill up vacancies in various skilled professions, including healthcare, hotel management, carpentry, plumbing, driving, and security guards in Germany, officials informed.The development, officials informed, is part of the experimental project where the Maharashtra govt signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the German state of Baden-Württemberg for providing skilled manpower from the state. As per the agreement, trained and unemployed individuals from the state, including Thane district, would be selected on merit after registrations and subsequently trained in the German language and acquainted with their local culture.Dr Sanjay Wagh, Principal, District Institute of Education and Training, and also the Thane coordinator for the project, informed that the German state has communicated about vacancies in several sectors, including healthcare, where trained nurses, assistant radiologists and dentists, medical accountants, and receptionists, among others, may be required. Also, there are opportunities for those trained in hotel management, electricians, carpenters, plumbers, drivers, and security guards, he said."Presently, as many as 668 applications have been received from aspirants in Thane district. We have identified five institutes, one each in Navi Mumbai, Kalyan, Thane rural, and two in Thane city that will provide the infrastructure for conducting the sessions. Training will be provided by experts from a state-appointed agency to familiarise candidates with the German language and etiquette. Those who clear the exams will receive certificates and stand a chance of getting jobs in the German state," informed Dr Sanjay Wagh, Principal, District Institute of Education and Training, and also the Thane coordinator for the project.The department will soon start scrutiny of documents by Sept 9, after which a panel of experts will finalise the list and initiate the training programme. The cost of training per person is approximately Rs 33,000, which will be borne by the state that is also working on expanding the ambit by roping in other institutes and planning to train its staff in case the project yields the desired results, explained Wagh.
