MUMBAI: The cyber crime investigation cell on Tuesday arrested five more accused suspected to have involved in hacking the email account of Vandana Lulla, director of Podar International School in Santacruz.
The prime suspect, Amit Shinde (26), a resident of Satara, had been arrested two days ago.
Those arrested on Tuesday were Lokesh Patel (30), Vinod Gautam (42), Arshad Ansari (20), Ishaq Hussain (53) and Mukesh Soni (36).

The police said after hacking the email account, Shinde created a similar email ID and tried to dupe Lulla’s colleagues by demanding money to raise funds. A source said Lulla complained that she had been receiving calls from her colleagues and friends, asking whether she had sought to raise funds. Some colleagues even showed her the emails.
The police also traced the bank account of the accused
and found transactions of lakhs of rupees.
