How mental wellness influences physical health, explains expert

As scientific understanding of the mind-body connection deepens, new insights reveal how mental wellness can significantly impact physical health at the cellular level. Studies indicate that mental states, like stress or calmness, affect cellular processes, influencing overall health. This connection is increasingly recognized as a pathway to both illness prevention and enhanced recovery.

Life coach Viveck Shettyy explained, “Our mental state has a measurable effect on the body’s biological processes. Positive emotions and mindfulness, for instance, can boost immune function, while prolonged stress is linked to cellular aging and inflammation.”

Mindfulness meditation is one approach gaining attention for its ability to reduce cortisol (a stress hormone), promoting relaxation and mental clarity, Shettyy noted during a Tapasya Foundation lecture.
