MUMBAI: The city crime branch on Tuesday arrested Arif Shaikh, a key accused who had provided logistical support to the shooters in the Navi Mumbai developer Sunil Lahoria’s murder case. Shaikh is said to have provided a vehicle to transport the shooters.
Arif is the 11th person to be arrested in the case, while architect Anuragh Garg, main accused Suresh Bijlani’s brother Mahesh Bijlani and SP Agarwal are absconding.

Shaikh will be produce before a court on Wednesday. “Shaikh is a resident of Kausa in Mumbra and is known to be a close aide of encounter specialist Emmanuel Amolik,” said a senior police officer.
“Shaikh had met shooter Wajid Qureshi and Amolik at a hotel near Vashi station a day before the killing. After the shooting, Shaikh met Amolik to chart out a plan to leave the city,” he added.
“Shaikh had actively participated in the conspiracy meeting a day before the murder and supplied the vehicle. Shaikh had prior knowledge of the murder conspiracy. There are witnesses who have named him,” said joint police commissioner (crime) Himanshu Roy.
