Mumbai police arrest 29-year-old man for sexually assaulting 10-year-old girl in Chuha Garden Area

In Mumbai's Antop Hill, a 29-year-old man has been arrested by police for allegedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in Chuha Garden. The accused reportedly lured the victim and her brother with the promise of a garden visit. He then isolated the girl by sending her brother away, before committing the assault.

MUMBAI: Antop Hill Police have arrested a 29-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in the Chuha Garden area. The accused had allegedly lured the victim and her younger brother by promising to take them to a nearby garden. The incident is reported to have occurred sometime between July 20 and July 26, 2025.According to the police on the day of the incident, the victim and her brother were playing near their residence when the accused approached them with a friendly demeanor, offering to take them to a garden. Once they reached Chuha Garden, the accused sent the victim's younger brother away under the pretext of buying snacks, thus isolating the girl. He then allegedly committed obscene acts with her.

Police have booked him he accused under (BNS) tor sexual assault and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway to ascertain if there are other victims or similar offences linked to him.(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
