The channel claimed earlier this week that it was "on a mission" to expose the underbelly of Bollywood.

On Wednesday evening, Verma, through his counsel Dipesh Mehta, filed a complaint at deputy commissioner Amitabh Gupta''s office in Bandra, asked for the tapes to be seized and for the India TV team behind the sting operation to be arrested.
Verma said in the complaint that the entire episode had been filmed three months ago under the supervision of Suhaib Ilyasi-the man behind the crime show India''s Most Wanted, who had also supervised the Shakti Kapoor sting. Rajat Sharma, CEO of India TV, did not deny the sting operation on Verma, but refused to elaborate.

In his complaint Verma further stated that in December 2004 he had been approached by a Delhi-based model who called herself Ruchi-the samename used by the decoy in the Shakti Kapoor sting. The girl had plagued him with phone calls and sought his "assistance" in her bid to make it big in Bollywood. She told him that she had come to Mumbai and was staying in a five-star hotel in Juhu. Verma said he had ignored her calls but she hadcontinued to pester him to meet her.
