Pianist’s death: Crime branch re-records statements

MUMBAI: The city crime branch, probing the death of pianist Karan Joseph, recorded statements of several persons, including music producer Rishi Shah, for more than two hours at its Kurla unit on Friday.
Police clarified that Susanna Uzma, who was in the 12th floor flat when Joseph jumped, has flown to Australia, assuring them she will return soon. Crime branch sources said they are re-recording statements of witnesses.

They have sent Karan’s laptop and phone to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for information on his WhatsApp and email accounts. The case was transferred to the crime branch after Karan’s relatives alleged a shoddy probe.
Karan’s laptop was not recovered till Wednesday and many belongings are missing from his Khar flat. The search of Rishi’s apartment began only at 2pm, although the body was removed by 9am.
