Reliance Infra, which serves more than two million power consumers in Mumbai's suburbs, is ready to handle the monsoon which is expected to hit Mumbai in next few days, officials said.

MUMBAI : Reliance Infra, which serves more than two million power consumers in Mumbai's suburbs, is ready to handle the monsoon which is expected to hit Mumbai in next few days, officials said.
"To handle issues arising due to monsoon, R-Infra has started operations of its Central Disaster Control Room (CDCR), which would ensure seamless coordination with other utilities and authorities during the exigencies arising out of monsoon,'' said a R-Infra spokesperson.
The company's monsoon action plan is a proactive consumer safety approach, which will minimize the down time during emergencies, and reduce consumer inconveniences.
In case, waterlogging becomes dangerous either at installations inside consumers' premises like meter cabins or at company's installation site such as transformers, mini pillars on roads, substations etc., for the safety of consumers Reliance Energy may resort to 'Safety Switch Offs' in those affected area, she stated. The restoration of power supply and normalcy in such cases will only be done after a thorough inspection of each installation by company officials.
R-Infra has also carried out all pre-monsoon checks and preventive maintenance of equipment and deploy 32 dedicated disaster management teams to handle emergencies. It also has a boat along with operator placed at strategic locations for any emergencies.
To ensure speedy registration of power shutdowns , RInfra also launched a 24X7 helpline 1800 200 3030.
