MUMBAI: The Thane crime branch unit I has arrested two history-sheeters, Rupesh Singh and Sanjay Briajdar alias Patil, linked to retired encounter specialist Emmanual Amolik in connection with the attempt to murder slain builder Sunil Lahoria’s son, Sandeep, last year.
Sources said the duo was already arrested in an arms case and was lodged in Arthur Road jail.

During interrogation, they reportedly said that Singh had met Amolik in a Thane jail and the latter told him to keep a watch on Sandeep, who was opposing their bail applications, and wait for further instructions.
The police plan to take permission from the court and seek custody of Amolik and main accused Suresh Bijlani. On Thursday, they questioned Bijlani’s associate, Asif, for nearly three hours.
