With the deadline for pubs and bars extended till 5am on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, the entire city is out celebrating, while the cops have to work to ensure safety.

NAVI MUMBAI: Students of MMK College of Commerce and Economics in Bandra visited over 50 police stations in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, expressing gratitude to overburdened police personnel, who have been working extra hours during the festive season.
With the deadline for pubs and bars extended till 5am on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, the entire city is out celebrating, while the cops have to work to ensure safety.

“We are distributing gifts like roses, chocolates and energy drinks to cops who have to work double while we have a gala time,” said a student, Akash Singhal. “No one notices how beat cops can never take leave during festivals. So, we are visiting police posts to spread Christmas cheer,” said Anuja Patil.
