Gowda family tries to hinder growth of JD(S) leaders: KCN

Mandya: Minister KC Narayana Gowda on Saturday accused JD(S) supremo and former prime minister HD Deve Gowda’s family of conspiring to hinder the growth of leaders within their party.
Speaking to reporters, the minister said that Gowda family ensured that none of the leaders in their party grew up to become mass leaders as they always had someone ready to pull down the popular leaders.
“The Gowda family conspired and ended the political career of former speaker Krishna by fielding me against him from the KR Pet constituency, even though I had not worked for the JD(S) then. The family members wanted to ensure that Krishna, who had served the party for more than four decades, did not contest the polls,” he claimed.
“Similarly, the JD(S) had already planned to end my political career by supporting another leader,” he contended.
“If the Gowda family had allowed leaders like me, YSV Datta, AH Vishwanath, KM Shivalingegowda, AT Ramaswamy grow, none of us would have left the party,” he said.
Narayana Gowda had resigned as a JD(S) MLA in 2019 and got re-elected on a BJP ticket in the bypoll.TNN
