Kannada Jyoti Ratha flagged off

Mandya: Mandya district minister N Cheluvarayaswamy on Thursday said Kannada Jyoti Ratha, to provide wide mobile publicity to the 87th Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, will roll to various cities and towns inviting people to attend the event. The Kannada meet will be held in Mandya from Dec 20.
The minister was speaking after flagging off the Bhuvaneshwari Ratha at Nimishamba temple.He said the district, which is also a sugar bowl, will welcome all Kannada lovers to the town during the three-day fest. The chariot, featuring portraits of all seven Jnanpith awardees, also highlights the historic places of Mandya and the significance of the district, he said.
MLAs Rameshbabu Bandisiddegowda, Ganiga Ravikumar, and others were present.
