Madikeri: Mysore MP Yaduveer Wadiyar said that the Union govt has sanctioned Rs 22 crore for road infrastructure development in Kodagu district.In a statement, the MP of Mysore Lok Sabha segment, which includes Kodagu district, said that three major state highways will be developed using the sanctioned fund.Yaduveer said that the funds have been released under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund for three major state highways. He detailed that Rs 6 crore has been sanctioned for the development of Kodlipet-Hebbale State Highway 244, Rs 10 crore has been sanctioned for the development of Madikeri-Kutta SH 89, which suffered immense damage during incessant rainfall in the last few years. The State Highway 90 connecting Talacauvery road has been sanctioned Rs 6 crore.The BJP MP said that the implementation of these works will improve road safety, passenger comfort and transport efficiency across the district while also providing a boost to tourism and economic activities. He opined that good roads are crucial to Kodagu to meet the growing needs of tourists and locals. He, meanwhile, assured to bring in more funds from the Union govt to ensure comprehensive development of Mysuru and Kodagu districts.
