MYSURU: Unrelenting rain in Malnad region continued to disrupt normal life, with rivers, lakes and streams overflowing in Kodagu, Hassan, Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru districts. Other than houses getting flooded, standing crops across farms were washed away.
The
India Meteorological Department issued a red alert for the districts till 8.30am on Tuesday, while a yellow alert has been sounded for Mysuru and Chamarajanagar.
On the upside, tourism and farming activities witnessed a spurt in Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru and Hassan districts, with many waterfalls in Malnad region roaring back to life.
