History sheeter Monu Thakur stabbed to death in Nandanvan slum
Nagpur: A monetary dispute led to the killing of history-sheeter Monu Thakur in Nandanvan slum on Friday evening. The attack was allegedly carried out by his rival Ayush Ludelkar, and a minor accomplice.Thakur, who had multiple cases registered against him and had been externed in 2014, was attacked around 8pm near Jagnade Chowk in lane number 1 of the slum.Sources said tensions between the two had been escalating for some time over a financial dispute, with both sides reportedly issuing threats. Thakur had allegedly warned of retaliation, while Ludelkar is suspected to have been planning an attack.Police said Ludelkar, on learning about Thakur's presence in the area, intercepted him with the help of the minor and allegedly stabbed him with a knife.Thakur sustained multiple injuries and collapsed at the spot. He was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Ludelkar, who has two prior offences against him, and his accomplice are currently absconding.Nandanvan police, along with the crime branch, have launched a search operation, with multiple teams deployed to track down the suspects. Police are scanning CCTV footage and questioning residents as part of the investigation.
