‘Rented room, 100 videos’: How Maharashtra teen 'lured, abused minors'; chilling details emerge
By: Anil Jadhav
AMARAVTI/NAGPUR: Barely 24 hours after a 19-year-old from Amravati district was arrested for sexually abusing minor girls and video-recording the act to blackmail them, a bulldozer rolled into his family home in Paratwada town late Wednesday morning.
Police lined up along the road leading to Ayan Ahmed’s house and within 30 minutes, the JCB had torn down a metal staircase and the connected reinforced concrete landing. Civic council officials pasted a notice on the property, asking its owners to produce documents by April 20 to prove they have approvals for the groundplus-one floor building, report.

Sources said the key accused allegedly lured women, many of them minors, into relationships, sexually exploited them in a rented room, and recorded at least 100 videos that were later circulated.
Police have constituted a 47-member SIT and arrested 3 youths for circulating the videos. All four have been remanded in police custody till April 21, sources said, adding 2 more suspects are likely to be arrested soon. Police have so far identified 8 survivors.
Amravati SP Vishal Anand said. “We have contacted the survivors’ families and requested them to give statements.”
A JCB reached the 19 years-old’s family home near Jay Stambh Chowk in the heart of Paratwada town with a huge convoy of civic officials and cops. Cops lined up along the road leading to the house, to ensure no untoward incident occurs in the district that has a history of communal strife.
Achalpur civic officials have directed the house owner or representative to be physically present for a hearing at 1pm on April 20, along with property ownership and building approval documents. “If you fail to show up for the meeting, it will be assumed that you have nothing to say and bulldozer action will be initiated again,” the notice by civic officials stated.
The cyber cell, meanwhile, has taken down several Telegram channels where videos of sexual abuse of minors by the arrested key accused were circulating.
Cops are also verifying whether any victim is missing or if any suicide is linked to the case, which could then lead to more offences being registered. “That is why it’s important for survivors to come forward and tell us what happened,” said Anand.
