NAGPUR: A delegation of senior scribes met Joint CP Rajvardhan to complaint against a scrap dealer who had been trying to register false offences against a crime reporter of a regional daily. The dealer has already lodged a private complaint against four senior reporters before a court for defamation.
The journalists highlighted the modus operandi of the scrap dealer who tends to file complaints against any agency trying to take action for his alleged wrongful practices in trade.

He would later systematically target the scribes, with fake and fabricated complaints in order to remain out of media coverage.
The scrap dealer had recently registered against RTI activist Mukesh Sahu and also attempted to get a senior journalist booked under Arms Act.
Rajvardhan assured to look into the issue. "As if police did not register offence immediately but kept the complaint to probe the matter first before registering the offence," said the Jt CP.
