Nagpur: Music programme ‘Tere Chehre Se Nazar Nahi Hathti’, organized by Swar Sargam group, had the audience in thrall with singers belting out hit songs at Utkarsh Hall of Mor Hindi Bhavan on Friday
The songs were presented by Seema Singh, Sanjay Uttarwar, Shivkumar Awaze, Santosh Londe, Maya Dhoke and Raj Chaudhari.
Songs like ‘Mere dil mein aaj kya hai’, ‘Aye dil ki rani’, ‘Main shayar toh nahi’, ‘Teri rahon mein khade hai’, ‘Haye haye yeh majboori’, ‘Tumhara chahne wala’, ‘O mehbooba’, ‘Pyar hua ikrar hua’, ‘Hawa ke saath saath’, ‘Na ja kahin ab na ja ’, ‘Tune o rangeele kaise jadu kiya’ and ‘Yeh ratein yeh mausam nadika kinara’ were well received.
Romantic songs got repeated applause as singers sung ‘Dil pukare aa re aa aare’, ‘Pyar deewana hota hai’, ‘Vadiya mera daman’, ‘Mohobbat bade kam ki chiz’, ‘Main na bhulunga’, ‘Meri soni meri tamanna’, ‘Parda hai parda’, ‘Jeevan ke har mod pe mil jayenge humsafar’, ‘Itna toh yaad hai mujhe’, ‘Tere chehre se nazar nahi hathti’, ‘Kitna pyara wada’, ‘Na na karte pyar’ and ‘Hasta hua nurani chehra’.
Duet song ‘Yeh raatein ye mausam’, performed by Sanjay Uttarwar and Seema Singh, was enjoyed a lot by the audience.
‘Hawa ke saath saath’ by Shivkumar and Maya was also well received by the audience as it got charged up when the song was being presented.
‘Meri soni meri tamanna’ by Seema and Raj was a delight to listen as the audience clapped repeatedly.
Lilting song ‘Pyar hua ikrar hua’, featuring legendary filmmaker and actor Raj Kapoor and Nargis, composed decades ago, continues to rule the hearts of people.
There were many occasions when the music lovers hummed the songs the singers presented. ‘Pyar deewana’ and ‘Pyar hua ikrar hua’ appeared to be the favourites as the singers gave their best.
Many new singers impressed the audience with the range in their voice and perfect coordination with the accompanying artistes. The audience, on its part, kept them cheering and encouraging them to give their best.
Chief guest Sanjay Uttarwar also entertained the audience by presenting a song.
Anchor Raj Chaudhari kept the music lover in good humour by narrating the stories and anecdotes associated with various songs. A well informed Raj gave the background of some songs which had many interesting facts when recorded. He also entertained the audience by cracking jokes and ‘shayari’.
