Two Maoists killed, one injured in Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh joint operation

Two Maoists, including a woman cadre, were neutralized during a joint operation by the Maharashtra and Chhattishgarh police beyond Indravati river in the Bijapur district of Chhattishgarh on Friday.

NAGPUR: Two Maoists, including a woman cadre, were neutralized during a joint operation by the Maharashtra and Chhattishgarh police beyond Indravati river in the Bijapur district of Chhattishgarh on Friday.
One cadre was also found in injured condition.
During searches, security forces have recovered a Self-loading rifle and a .303 rifle too.
It's learnt Maoists had set up transit camp in Bijapur district of Chhattishgarh.

The location was close to Maharashtra-Chhattishgarh border.
Maharashtra police too were alerted. Following the information, Gadchiroli SP Neelotpal had sent C-60 commandos too to conduct a joint operation with their Bijapur counterparts.
DIG Naxal range Sandip Patil, also in-charge of State Anti-naxal operation (ANO) cell, said the bodies of the Maoists are being identified. "Prima facie, the Maoists were crossing over from the Telangana to Chhattishgarh via Maharashtra but we are trying to get more details," said Patil.
