Car collides with tanker, driver dies

Nashik: A car driver (61) was killed after his vehicle had a head-on collision with a tanker on the flyover of the Mumbai-Agra highway in Ranenagar area of the city on Monday night. The deceased, identified as Dnyaneshwar Dhondiba Kumbhar, was a resident of Savargaon, Ashti of Beed district. The Ambad police have registered an FIR against the deceased for the offences punishable under sections 304-A (causing death due to negligence), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 279 (rash driving) among other sections of the Indian Penal Code.Police said, “The man was driving his car on the wrong side of the flyover towards Dwarka on the Dhule-side. He collided with a tanker coming from the opposite side. This led his subsequent death.”
