Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated with enthusiasm in Nashik
Nashik: Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with great enthusiasm across Nashik, with members of the Muslim community offering mass prayers at the Eidgah Maidan and other parts of the city.
A strict bandobast was maintained by the city police to ensure there were no untoward incidents during the celebration. Muslim community members embraced one another and extended good wishes for Eid-ul-Fitr.
The holy month of Ramzan ended on Sunday, after which thousands of Muslims gathered at the Eidgah Maidan for the mass prayers at 10am on Monday. The mass prayers were offered in the presence of Shahar-e-Khatib Hisamuddin Ashrafi. Hisamuddin Ashrafi, in his address, spoke about the strict fast undertaken by the young and old in the scorching month of March. He prayed for peace in the country and across the world.
Meanwhile, a large number of people from different communities gathered to greet their Muslim friends on Eid-ul-Fitr. MP Rajabhau Waje, former MP Hemant Godse, former MLA Vasant Gite, former mayor Vinayak Pandey, Congress city president advocate Akash Chhajed, and others also extended their greetings.
A police bandobast comprising 10 inspectors, 25 sub-inspectors, and 150 constables, apart from teams of State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) and Special Security Force, were deployed at the Eidgah Maidan and surrounding areas under the guidance of police commissioner Sandeep Karnik, DCP (crime) Prashant Bacchav, and ACP (crime) Sandeep Mitke.
Similar prayers were also offered in the Nashik Road area, Satpur, Indiranagar, and other parts of Nashik city.
