Leopard lounges at guest room of this Maharashtra university campus, later rescued

NASHIK: The forest department officials in Nashik rescued a leopard from the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences campus on Monday.
Personnel of the forest department's west division said the leopard was tranquillized in the guest room of the MUHS building, and rescued from the spot at 10 am.
The forest officials said they received a call about a leopard prowling on MUHS campus, which is spread over tens of acres along the Dindori Road, at 8.30 am. A forest team reached the campus and began the search.
They were soon informed that the leopard had strayed into the guest room of the university.
When the rescue team reached the guest room, the leopard was found sitting in one corner. The forest personnel tranquillized the leopard with the help of a dart gun.
They said the animal was tranquillized with the first shot, after which, it was put in a cage and taken away from the spot.
The three-and-a-half-year-old male leopard has been taken to the forest department's nursery, from where it will soon be released into its natural habitat, said the officials.
