NASHIK: The five suspects in the Manappuram gold heist were remanded in 14-day police custody by the Nashik Road court on Wednesday.
"The suspects, Kartik Devendra, Jeevan Singh, Rupesh Ranpise, Rajdatta Rane, and Chadrashekhar Rane were remanded in police custody till January 20," said senior inspector K R Popere. He added that they would be investigating if other people were involved in the crime.

The Thane police had arrested Kartik Devendra, Jeevan Singh, Rupesh Ranpise from Dombivli, while Rajdatta Rane and Chadrashekhar Rane were picked up from the city from the Gangapur Road area, jointly by the Thane and Nashik police.
The five suspects, three of whom were dressed in police uniforms, had escaped with 15kg of gold and Rs 3 lakh in cash from the Manappuram office in Nashik Road on October 1, 2013.
