Raut will discuss my grievances with Uddhav, says Gholap

Nashik: Senior Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Babanrao Gholap on Monday met Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut in Mumbai, a day after he resigned as the deputy leader of the party.Gholap was reportedly miffed as Sena (UBT) had inducted former Shirdi MP, Bhausahab Waghchaure into the party recently.“Raut invited me for a meeting to discuss my grievance. He gave me a patient hearing and assured me of discussing the issue with party chief Uddhav Thackeray within the next few days,” Gholap, a former state minister, told TOI and added that he felt like an ordinary worker of the party after he was replaced as the incharge of Shirdi.Gholap’s supporters claim that the party leadership had approved his candidature for the Shirdi Lok Sabha seat and asked him to prepare for the same and hence he had been removed as the incharge. Waghchaure’s induction seems to have derailed Gholap’s plans as there is a possibility of the party fielding the former MP from the seat, which he had won in 2009. Gholap reiterated that he has not withdrawn his resignation and will wait for the outcome of Raut’s discussion with Thackeray on the issue. His supporters claim that the Sena (UBT) chief has been misled by his close confidants with regard to Waghchaure’s induction. “Gholap has a better chance of winning the Shirdi Lok Sabha seat,” they claimed.
