NAVI MUMBAI: As a mark of respect reflecting public sentiments, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation chose to ignore illegal hoardings that came up to convey condolence and express public grief to the departed senior BJP leader and Union minister for rural development
Gopinath Munde. The minister died in a car accident on Tuesday in Delhi.
Munde’s sudden death led to a pall of gloom among party supporters and resulted in big hoardings springing up overnight at many places in the city.
Though no permission was sought, the hoardings were kept to honour the late political leader. A civic body source said, “We allowed them for some days but will now pull them down along with other illegal banners.”
The civic body held a meeting on Saturday and passed an order to ward officers and staff to remove all illegal hoardings.
