NAVI MUMBAI: The civic body will appoint ‘mobile teachers’, who will go to the houses of out-of-school special children to teach them.
In a survey conducted by NMMC, it was found that out of 1,097 out-of-school children in Navi Mumbai, 88 were special children.
“The mobile teachers will visit the homes of special children within the age group of six and 18 years two or three days in a week to teach them,” said Yogesh Hannukar, a civic education official.
He also said that special teaching, along with therapy, as per the disability of the students will be considered to determine if additional educators are required. These additional teachers will be provided by the ETC.
