Two minor children died after the wall of a water tank collapsed on them in Sadarpur village, falling under Sector 39 police station, on Saturday afternoon.

NOIDA: Two minor children died after the wall of a water tank collapsed on them in Sadarpur village, falling under Sector 39 police station, on Saturday afternoon.
The children, Juli (12) and Ashish (6), were playing near tank when it fell on them. Their parents work as labourers in the nearby construction site and lives in the shanties around the site.

"The contractor, Bhanwar Singh, on Friday, repaired the cracks on the tank and filled it with water. But it still collapsed on the children on Saturday," said Zahir Khan, SHO Sector 39 police station.
The labourers working at the construction site heard their cries and rushed to the spot.
They recovered them from debris and rushed to a private hospital in Sector 128. Doctors declared them brought dead on arrival.
The family members of the children protested at the spot and demanded an inquiry into the matter. Police sent the bodies for post-mortem and registered a case against the contractor.
